I live on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and have occasion to mix with some wealthy folks, although I am NOT one of them.

The really funny thing is that there are very few women who will wear a designer item anonymously. If it doesn't have the designer logo visible on it somewhere, chances are she won't wear it. One woman I saw yesterday kept finding reasons to show the red sole of her shoe until someone asked her if it was a Loboutin. (She was also plastered with other designer logos). No one would wear a Chanel sweater unless it had the trademark interlocking "C"'s on it. But if a woman is truly interested in design, she'll wear it whether it's a Gap T-shirt or a Kors trouser.

Wearing identifiable designer clothing is intended to show its wearer's prosperity; to me, it displays a combination of insecurity and lack of creativity.

In the 4 h and girl scout days of the 1960 era andl also the vista people from up notrh who took pity on us poor farm redneck gils with the hillbilly farmers jeans and flour sack material shirts made of burlap we used this guide to dree up town on a very small clothing welfare shopping trip to the big city of Knoxville and Gay street and Millers.

a white blouse witha peter pan collar

and a virgin pin

and lo course the very dressy back bull over

3 skirts one a line one square dance full and one pleadted all black

the pruse should be one clutch and one shoulder bag both either whtie or black

adn of course the hobo bag fro everyday

the shoes wre black tap shoes with little ties

be bops the balck and white golf type shoe with socks that matched yoru homemade attempt a t a life

even thoug we all know

only those kind of women go out to dinner with facy steakdiane on the menu while we were lucky tohave a peanut and jelly sandwichl
