Obama said "interpreters"; you said "translators." These are two different things--interpreters listen and speak; translators read and write. This is a gaffe about a gaffe.

More specifically - Interpreters deal with spoken words in one language and provide the meaning in a second while Translators read written words, such as translating a text from one language to another.
