The Motherhood Crunch: Worse for Scientists?
by spiker

Women scientists who want their career should marry the lab's janitors.

Male scientists who don't like kids and cleaning house should marry waitresses.

Problem solved.

But then again how many women really want to quit and raise kids because it is in fact more fulfilling for them, they do exist you know.

Also... males DO marry waitresses... while females STILL have a problem marrying "beneath" them.

I have a friend who is smart and attractive. So she has always insisted she must marry someone smart, attractive and well off. End result... she's single at 46 (and never married). she would date attractive guys... but never viewed them as marriage material since she made more money than they did.

Men have to be complete idiots to marry someone and risk 50% of everything they earn when they make 75% of the household income. Women faced with the same decision basically don't marry.
