Do you love America?

Who in their right mind would be willing to subject themselves to the “Hell” we commonly refer to as a presidential campaign if they didn’t honest and truly love America? Who could go through life being under a microscope 24/7 while every word and every mannerism is subject to national debate and scrutiny? Who would voluntarily open themselves to public humiliation, ridicule, and scorn by people who they’ve never met? Clearly, that person is somebody who loves their country more than themselves and doesn’t just talk about it.

Although they knew they weren’t perfect; Senators Clinton, McCain, and Obama have put themselves on the line for all Americans which includes White Americans, Black Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans. We’re all Americans.

Senator Clinton is not a racist and she was factually correct when she said that lower income, uneducated, blue-collar whites were voting for her. That is a fact and simply stating a fact does not make the speaker a racist. The fact that the majority of white women voted for Senator Clinton doesn’t make them racist or sexist; rather, it was a once in a life time opportunity for women, particularly when there wasn’t much policy difference between her and Senator Obama. There was a time when women couldn’t vote. Pride. I get it.

Senator Obama is not a racist or elitist. He is just as much white, as he is black and he doesn’t come from a privileged upbringing. The fact that the majority of black people voted for Senator Obama doesn’t make them racist; rather, it was a once in a life time opportunity for blacks, particularly when there wasn’t much policy difference between him and Senator Clinton. Blacks have consistently voted for white men in previous presidential elections and consider that blacks came to this country in chains. Pride. I get it.

Anybody with an IQ greater than a rock knew from the beginning of this campaign, that without any provocation from the candidates, race, gender, and age would be the topics of fierce debates between friends, family, co-workers, and yes, bloggers. We all have our opinions and we are free to express them because we are AMERICANS. I also think those of you who are attempting to convince others to come over to your political side is an exercise in futility.

Neither Senators Clinton, McCain, nor Obama would want you to support them with the hate, racism, and sexism displayed in these posts. It is important to remember that one of these senators is going to be our President and our country will be in good hands with either of them. So which ever Senator you support; respect them and their love for AMERICA and ALL AMERICANS. “Friendship is essential to the soul.”

"Who in their right mind would be willing to subject themselves to the “Hell” we commonly refer to as a presidential campaign if they didn’t honest and truly love America?"

Suspect there's a lot to your "in their right mind" qualifier.

Nice post...thank you. I have been thinking this for some time....all these 'groups'....the whites, blacks, actually all the breakdowns they do of ethnic groups, male/female....age groups.....many have voted in the past....why is the election so different, just because we have a woman, an aged, or an darker color color of skin candidate? Now it seems a big deal that they get votes from a similar "group" I really think that there is more of a big deal being made about this than needs to be. Sadly the candidates need to spend more time defending themselves on non policy issues, or I feel they need to guard their words, because their words will be twisted.

Thank you for this gentle reminder, its much appreciated

Ah bullshit! Race and
by Gatewood

gender, education, and the differences in social, and economic classes have been at the core of this nomination process from the get go and the national press, Obama, and DNC efforts to PUNISH Hillary anytime she got off the Party's message of 'I would like to have Obama's love child,' to discuss them, has gradually destroyed her chances . . . to the satisfaction OF the DNC and Obama and the press.

In precisely that manner Hillary has been patted on the head by those elements and told, "Sure you can run your race little lady, but don't you go upsetting Mr. Obama, you hear? We have already decided that he is going to be the nominee; oh . . . and while you are at it, press our shirt you skanky bitch!"

Hillary Clinton supporters have been having the press, the DNC, and Obamacrats chant at them for nearly two damn months now that the race is over. They KNOW that beginning the 20th of this month the press will attempt to get Obama to officially declare himself the winner. They KNOW that the DNC is so firmly in-the-bag for Obama that this nomination process has almost become a grotesque joke.

So no, I don't think that Hillary Clinton supporters ARE going to lay down and smile just because Obamacrats, the press, and the DNC declare the nomination process over in mid race nor are they going to do so because you posted a pretty and air-filled puff piece on the glories of just getting along with one another, holding hands, and singing Kumbayah, oh Lord.

But thanks loads anyway.

I'm just shocked you could

Take your loving arms from around the Tree long enough to type that Post.

The 2008 Election Cycle is just starting to heat up.... so, you had better strap yourself in for a bumpy ride.

If Obama is GIVEN the nomination
by Gatewood

by the DNC and the press then McCain and the thoroughly prepared and absolutely professional GOP propaganda masters will eat Obama and Obamacrats for breakfast AND probably woo tremendous numbers of enraged mainstream democrats either into voting for McCain or just staying home on election day.

It was difficult to Swiftboat John Kerry because he had seen military action and had been decorated for bravery under fire, but Swiftboat him the GOP managed to do and it cost Kerry the race. In comparison to John Kerry Barack Obama will be a sitting duck.

Obamacrats ARE the tree huggers of the Democratic Party and thanks to them and their joke of a candidate [that has been carried by the national press and a corrupt DNC] the Democrats ARE going to lose this election.

This election that was guaranteed won before Obamacrats decided to childishly indulge themselves with 'feel' good' politics.

Hillary is a fighter -- look at how well she has done in the face of a relentlessly hostile press determined to campaign for Obama, look how well she has done against a hostile DNC that has been determined to make Obama the nominee. She would stand an even chance against McCain and the attack machinery of the GOP,

Obama, on the other hand, has been artificially propped up every step of the way. But the moment he is GIVEN the nomination the press will abandon him and begin rooting for John McCain and at that point the DNC can't pull any more strings, rig any more election rules, or browbeat or outright buy or blackmail any more delegates for him.

He will be entirely on his own for the first time and for the first time will receive the full impact of genuinely hostile political attacks.

He will then fold like a house of cards.

Ahh Gatewood, sorry to say, but you are a bit predictable....didn't figure a post this postive could go without debate....but I guess thats what these forums are for....by now, you know I am support Sen. Obama and the hope he holds for our nations future.....but have never felt that Sen Clinton was totally out of the race, until today, and really it had nothing to do with the superdelagate count today, it was more with the news that the Clinton campaign is outragously in debt.....this does bring up a concern, if she cannot manage the financials of a campaign, I am concerned that she would not be my choice in managing the debt our nation is already in. I am curious your thoughts about that....and please I ask you to reply in a respectful manner, I am sensitive ya know;) as crazy as it may seem to other posters, I do believe you have thoughts worth listening to.
Sensitive does not mean
by Gatewood

capable of thought.

You know why Hillary Clinton has money problems. You know what the press and the DNC have been doing to her. You KNOW that this affects the money flow. You KNOW that the national press ignored her Indiana win to imply to [or in some cases to tell] voters that with Obama's win in the heavily Black North Carolina race that the nomination process was over. You KNOW what that does to the money flow.

You know all of this. So why are you asking?

Dear gentle Changeishope, I have been posting about politics on these boards since Bill Clinton was being railroaded into a bogus impeachment farce. I have run into so many variations of Changeishope style posters until you now all seem alike to me. Do you think it is remotely possible that YOU can run any form of political posting game that I haven't already encountered and not just once or twice but many, many times?

Look, it is now about a sixty percent chance [real political terms not made up Slate crapola numbers] that Obama is going to become the nominee. He's had the press and the DNC rigging the game for him and so he probably will finally limp away with it. He will also destroy the Democratic Party [or rather his brainless followers -- that would include you] will be responsible [along with the national media and the DNC] for having done this.

So you can begin patting yourself on the back and telling yourself what a good and righteous job you have done in helping to prove that there are no racists in the Democratic Party [even while you and yours are BEING racists and bigots] and continue to feel self-righteously good about yourself as McCain [for all the reasons stated] wins the general election and thus the presidency.

In other words, congratulations.

Hillary lost.
Re: Sensitive does not mean

I am sorry but I believe there is a misunderstanding here. I am not playing games, This is the first election I have had any interest in, my bad, but I really do not understand how this is all supposed to work. I believe I asked in another thread why would the DNC rig things so that the nominee is not the best one suited for the nomination? I really cannot understand that? Now, I haven't been keeping tabs, but I do believe that Sen Obama has been hit quite hard by the press as well, and yet his money flow seems to keep flowing. I am not brainless, perhaps uneducated, but not brainless, also I am not a rascist I could care less if the nominees were purple, poor, or if they go to church or not.....what I care about is what they can do to help us help ourselves.....that is why I have taken interest this year....our country is not in the best shape.......that is one reason I lean towards the democratic party, my apologies to the republican posters here, but I do believe its time for a change.

So no, I don't know all that you believe that I know.....and that is why I ask questions. This doesn't mean I will agree with the answers I get, but maybe in asking I will educate myself a bit more about this thing called politcs.....and if what you say is true, not sure I like the whole idea....sounds like a conspiracy to me.....sad to think a first time voter like myself could be feeling like my vote wouldn't matter if its really all settled before it even begins...
