Did ANYTHING Big Happen since Medicare?
by Sovereign8
I'd say the biggest was Workfare replacing a lot of Welfare, which was cut to 5 years and stopped for extra bambinos.

After that, second place goes to blowing up projexx (public housing).

Then wars in Mideast.

Next $4 gas (now up to $4.65). Used to be 32-cents in 1965.

Chinese imports.

Houses went from $16,000 to $900,000 for the same old average house in Jersey or Brooklyn.

Almost all unions busted or jobs sent to Mexichindia.

Cars went from 9 mpg, to 18 mpg at half the weight. Price from $2800 to $28,000.

Inflation multiplied most prices 10-fold, which is 6% in every year. Houses went up much faster Figure 9+%.

So: While we all know that McCain would do absolutely nothing, what do our geniuses predict for his opponents? Note that Obama is already saying "by the end of my first term..." I think that's for his harebrained medical proposal.

Where do they dig up these stiffs?

I think the idea is, not that we're going to turn the tramp steamer into the Holland Cruise lines flagship....

but we're going to stop punching holes in the hull to "cool off"....or throwing parts of the engine overboard to "make the boat more fuel efficient".

Or another analogy...stop pumping placebos into the patient and PRAYING over them....and stop the bleeding and get an IV bag on them, stat!
