Alright - let's go bust OPEC. You go, girl.

If this is such a brilliant idea, can anyone - anyone - give me just one tiny clue why we have not done this before? I mean, according to Hillary, all one need do is tell WTO that these mean folks are monopolists, and WTO will rap their knuckles soundly. Then, all will be well again becuase competition will take over. Right??

Could it be that this brilliant idea has never been thought of before Hillary put it on the table? My God, she really is smart!!

Or have policy-makers been concerned that the impact of such a proposal could lead to a downtick in OPEC production, which would create havoc in the oil futures market, thereby raising rather than lowering gas prices? Or, perhaps we have not employed this brilliant strategy becuase we depend on the goodwill of the Saudi's to keep some of the real serious OPEC nut cases in line?
