How many "Hillary supporters" will "suddenly" become...
by Reptilicus

McCain supporters or "Nader supporters"?

I use quotes, because, I have a feeling some of our HRC fans (many late to the party) might NOT be exactly honest about who they want to win in the Fall....or their party affiliations.

I'd look for two things in the next few weeks-

1. "I'm a life-long Democrat, but I in good conscious can't vote for Obama. He's too divisive (or his friends are). He also doesn't have enough experience....and while I DISAGREE WITH McCAIN ON MOST THINGS....I just don't think we can afford it. So I'm supporting McCain. He probably won't be that bad anyway, not as bad as a disasterous Obama Presidency!"

or 2. (more sneaky) "Obama is no progressive. He's a corporatist, same as the rest of them. He refused to nationalize health care in a single-payer plan, or implement a huge windfall profit tax, or investigate Bush or Cheney for war crimes. Vote Ralph in November. To do otherwise, would be a violation of our principles. Nader is the only true progressive....don't support Obama and his DINO friends!!!"

Just saying.

You mean in the same way that

if Hillary wins the nomination Obamacrats are already [vast numbers of them anyway] determined not to vote for her even if it guarantees John McCain the election? Something along those lines?

Oh . . . wait . . . how silly of me. Obviously it is different if Obama supporters do that to the Democratic Party and to the nation!

McCain and his buddy Old Joe are Warmongers. Do you really want four more years like the last eight? I don't think so.

Obama is a man of peace. He isn't perfect but he's good enough. Sometimes 'good enough' is a thousand times better than the alternative.

Think about it

ps....I was a Nader Raider in 2000. { don't tell anyone} However by 2004 I couldn't stand the Egomaniac Nader. Another odd thing happened, Nader turned out to be just like all the others. Moral of my story....."Don't go Green"

The difference is in loyalty.

Many Obama supporters (myself included), are independents. We have no loyalty to the democratic party, and switch sides depending on who's running. If we state that we would not accept Hillary, then that is something to take notice of. If a person is a "loyal democrat that has voted with the party for years" but states he/she would flip and vote for McCain if the voters don't select their chosen candidate... Well, I for one would assume that person is just blowing smoke, and laugh it off. :)

I imagine you'll see the national polls start shifting heavily towards Obama every week for at least a month after Hillary drops out, as her fervent supporters start putting the primary behind them and remember what party they belong to.

*shrug*

I think the reality is that Hillary is far closer to the middle than to the left. Just as McCain is more to the middle than to the right. As a result He is more closely aligned to Hillary supporters than Obama is.

I personally think Obama is closer to a socialist than any other classification. His health plan in a sense will include everyone but for the wrong reasons. Businesses will be forced to provide it, the poor will be given it, our kids will forever be dependent on Mom and Dad and those who need it will be fined for the premiums they did not pay plus a penalty. So who is left. Those who do not get it but do not need it because they are fortunate enough to stay healthy.

Of course I think his $2500 savings is BS and how are you going to get money out of those who get injured but gamed the system.

Oh Life long Democrat, child of a Union worker. I can not see anything that Obama could do that would make me change my mind and vote for him. Racism has nothing to do with it because remember he is both white and black. I just do not think his way of seeing things is rational.

I also think that bigger government and higher and higher taxes is not the way to go.

Dear Gatewood,

A little sad advice for you: You can drop the "...if Hillary wins the nomination...." qualifier from your posts :)

I think you missed my point. I'm saying that a lot of the pro-Hillary posters here.....are really Republicans and have been the whole time.

So, Gate....."if" Hillary doesnt' get the nomination....what will YOU say????

The difference is, no one has to worry about that because Obama already won. There's no "if Hillary wins" any more. It's over. She lost. Kiss her well-padded rear goodbye.

What are you talking about. Obama is talking about raising the capital gains tax. The is an increase. He wants to tax gas companies on their profits that is an increase. Force companies to provide health insurance, that is a tax increase.

Obama's views are closer to socialism than it is to capitalism. I think most of his approaches are give the money to the government and they will take care of us.

Think you may be the one in need of some study. If you are for government solving all our problems then Obama is your man.
