See here's the thing - OPEC is made up of other countries so the Sherman and Clayton Antitrust Acts just don't apply. Even granting the idea that all the oil consuming countries may want to make the OPEC countries pump more oil the fact is that the golden rule applies - those with the gold make the rules. The gold in this case is oil. Now we could go to war with the OPEC countries that's probably a bad idea too (*see Iraq war).

I've seldom heard such an idiotic idea. Eventually we are going to have to adjust how we live and work to take into account that there is more competition for the worlds available oil supply.
