Article in my morning paper,and they endorsed Obama.

Seems that is an Obama stronghold,but with the light of the Media shining on it they could not do their usual shennanigans. It is a part of the old Daley machine.

Reporters asking how hard is it to turn over computer results.

I know this was mentioned on the board,but nothing was said about it being an Obama stronghold. It was insinuated that Hillary would win.,by hook or by crook.

I mentioned IN yesterday and got into trouble because I do not live there...dontcha know...

I am not brave, just want the facts out. I heard a bit of the mayor on Jon Stewart this morning and he could not answer the Reporters questions about why it would take so long to count the votes. The reporter asked the Mayor how hard it was to give a competer read. He had no answer.

That is the whole point, Larry! They tried but the media glare made it impossible to cheat!

Reading between the lines of your post (which cries out for explanation and detail), are you implying that because Obama WON there, that it was simply because he has 'connections to the rampant corruption there?'

And perhaps you would answer this too...had Hillary won Lake County, would you then make the same comment and make the same post?

Just curious. Because I don't LIVE in that area, I wouldn't undertake at all, 'explaining why one or the other 'won'.

Maybe something (like a link to information about Obama corruption in Lake County,) would be very beneficial, and put insinuations to rest?

No, MA, Lake Co. did not endorse Obama. If need be, I can give you a long list of country officials who endorsed Hillary. I can also provide you with a link to our yesterday's paper if you like.

There have been numerous assertions that Lake Co. would more than likely go for Obama simply because we're in the Chicago media market and Obama's from a neighboring state and is better known here.

Don't attempt to tie Obama to the old Daley machine. The old Richard Daley (known as " D' Boss") in the 60s had no connection to the Lake Co. Dem machine. They merely patterned themselves after his methods. The present Mayor Daley and Obama have had a long standing feud over Obama's audacity to run against Daley's annointed candidates. That fued was only resolved last year when they buried the hatchet.

As I stated yesterday, it was a bad omen for Hillary in her first appearance in Hammond to take the stage with the old party regulars behind her. It would have been far better to have others behind her. It waved a red fllag to those who saw the picture. how much of an effect that had on the outcome is unknown.

As for your "insinuation" comment, that question was raised due to the past history that has been consistent for 40 years. It might be helpful to point out that in Tuesday's election, our country officials and several others were also on the ballot.

There have been aerrors in the national media pertaining to Lake Co. There's been a feud between Mayor McDermott of Hammond and Rudolph Clay of Gary because Gary schools bused eligible students to early voting st the country seat. Time magazine failed to state that Gary schools have been busing students to the country seat for three years as part of the civics and government class.

I would not presume to cast dispersions on situations in OH simply because I don't know OH politics or its players. As I said yesterday and I'll repeat again, I know the players here. I know the record. I know the dozen or more that we've sent to jail. I know the ones who've been indicted. I know how hard it's been to rid the party of the corruption.

Don't try to tie Obama to the machine plitics of either Chicago or Lake Co. It's non-existent. And pleae don't attempt to put words in my mouth.

you certainly have no problem tying HRC to the machine politics of Chicago and Lake County and all because you say she was seen in their company...geez didn't we just through something like the with Obama and Wright?

You posted that if there were any shennanigans they would be in Lake County and implied that is how Hillary would win.

You might want to check with all the cable networks and my Obama worshipping paper which candidate was predicted to win in lake County.They all said it was an"Obama Stronghold." over and over!

That county that won't be reporting until 11 is our county which includes Gary, Hammond and East Chicago and Crown Point. This is the country where if any shenanigans are played, it will be here.

In our polling place, there were five precincts in one location. Pidge was out there for five hours. Hillary didn't have one single person out there. Dyer is about halfway south in Lake Co., right on the state line with IL.

Yes, it will be interesting to see what Hillary has to say.

After reading SG's link and reading others online, that verifies what I've said--that shenenigans have a history here.

And yes, part of the history is that ballots are no counted at the precinct level but are hand delerved to the country seat in a VFW hall. Why they didn't have more people on hand to count the ballots, knowing in advance that turnout was going to heavier. And it's also a fact the Lake Co. historically has not released any results until absentee and early votes are counted.

I can tell you from experience, it's no fun to be a reporter here and not getting results fast enough to beat a deadline.

Lake County, which runs along the southern shore of Lake Michigan, is an amalgamation of steel mills and chemical plants in cities with large minority populations such as Gary and Hammond, along with numerous mostly white suburbs to the south. It always has had more in common with neighboring Chicago than the rest of Indiana. As such, it favored Obama in the Democratic presidential race.

The media glare stopped the corruption in that County.

I did not watch the returns,so was not aware of this County until I began to see all the news reports.And all said it was an Obama stronghold. That is fact. I just heard a John King rerun on the subject.

I also had not been posting here at that time.
