Only white faces appeared in the crowds
by DocBill
behind CLINTON/OBOMA's post victory speeches.I could understand CLINTON'S Indiana which has only a 5% Black population but 90% of the Blacks voted for OBOMA in South Carolina---not one Black.(CNN NEWS)

So what are you saying Dr.Bill?
Re: Only white faces appeared in the crowds

Clinton just barely won Indiana. It was a tight race....

Yes, what are you trying to say, Dr Bill?

But then, it could be that the Brothers and Sisters were too hip to be seen with a politician. One does have to maintain an image in the 'Hood, and being seen with an Oreo, or a white, female peckerwood (unless she was young and good looking) does not enhance one's credibility.

Hillary is not what what Sherriff Bart was referring to in Blazing Saddles when he asked where the white women were at.

And Obama sure as hell wasn't.

Unlike Honkies, Brothers got certain standards to maintain.

Be cool, Brother Doc...

I know dr. bill can speak for himself, but I think he's just wondering what many others are wondering. Does he have the support of the black community or not and, if he does, is he purposefully trying to distance himself from them?

Re: Only white faces appeared in the crowds

Actually, you have a good point here. Perhaps he merely assumes that being black, he has a large majority of the black vote sewn up. He's probably conceded the more redneck-type whites, and is trying to court the more moderate and liberal elements with the white community.

Despite any rosy prognostications within his camp though, Hillary is not dead yet. Maybe down, but certainly not out.

The problem for the Democratic Party though with either candidate is the fact that the dirty campaign both Hillary and Obama have conducted has divided the Democratic Party for all practical purposes.

There are people like myself who would never vote for Hillary Clinton under any circumstances. And also elements within the Democratic voting bloc who would never vote for Obama.

Which is good news for McCain, who probably wouldn't have had a prayer in hell if the Democrats hadn't divided themselves with this bitter in-fighting and factionalism. Being a Republican and trying to get one's self elected to the nation's highest office after George Bush should have been an insurmountable obstacle.

And it probably would have been, but for the fact that Democrats have a very unfortunate habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Looks to be a repeat of the same in November.

The damned fools never learn.

Which, when that probably happens again in Novemeber, will at least give Unebug the opportunity to cry foul once more, and claim the election was rigged.

Which should make her happy for four more years to come.

Heaven forbid her candidate should actually win.

She wouldn't know what to do...

You are right on target on that. Dems have had their heads up their asses for the past decade. They are certainly living up to their party symbol, the donkey.

As Lewis Black so succintly put it, "Republicans are the party of bad ideas, Democrats are the party of no ideas."

Actually are intelligent animals, though they have a reputation for stubborness which is well deserved.

Considering the relative merits of the two-legged variety, or the lack thereof, I would opine that it is an insult to the animal that the Democratic Party has adopted it as it's symbol.

PETA should be up in arms over this.

Oh PLEASE STOP THE BULLSHIT,ITS ABOUT RACE AND GENDER,WHITE FOLKS ECONOMY IS DEPRESS RIGHT NOW AND ARE LOOKING FOR A EXCUSE FOR THEIR SITUATION AND THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HISTORICALLY BEEN BLAMED ARE BLACK FOLKS,CAN I SAY OBAMA!
Re: Only white faces appeared in the crowds
by TXDem
I'm not completely disagreeing with you BD, because historically minorities are the first to be blamed when the economy takes a turn for the worse (although in this case I think it's the middle lower class being blamed because they were given houses they really couldn't afford in the name of corporate greed). However, I don't think race is the issue at all with Obama. I think his problem is plain old inexperience and lack of foresight to seperate himself from his pastor years ago.
Re: Only white faces appeared in the crowds

Obama does have some issues, Bigdaddy.

Race is of course an issue here. Especially in my neck of the woods. I may very well end up voting for the man, but I would prefer other options. I did like McCain, but I feel he sold his soul to the Bush Adminstration.

Needless to say, not a desirable picture this year any way one looks at it.

Peckerwoods are peckerwoods. Still I wish that the epitaph of Uncle Tom wouldn't have been applied to one of our former Congressmen here in Oklahoma. It was a compelling reason for his resignation from office.

One don't stand a chance if one can't get representation.

As far as pastors go, the less said the better.

Re: Only white faces appeared in the crowds

The pendulum effect. Bush has handed much to a small percent of the top one per cent.

If Obama can lead all the people to be willing to accept less consumerism and more pride in a nation that works together. less pointing fingers to the greedy ones it would be nice. Maybe we can save our cities from being burned down and the mansions destoyed and the rich tarred and feathered..

Elections....there is no proof that Bush won or that he lost. It is all just a bunch of hot air.

Why should this one be different except ....the pendulum and the media.. Lots of books have been written explaining my past grief. That is just the way things work. In a democracy we do not steer straight ; you have to aim further than you ever hope to go and by the time the people get the idea and things materialize you will be more central; The Neocons are just an exteme evil. If Bush has okayed Torture will it be right for Presidents in other nations to okay torture? We will see. If we do not respect international law ; then other nations that do respect it will have a poor opinion of us. I would like to see Tsu at an international dinner party defending his rhetoric.

Re: Only white faces appeared in the crowds
by Rob1
Tsuku would probably get a kick out of that.
Re: Only white faces appeared in the crowds
by unrbug

Tsu just seems full of hot air lots of time and the desire to shock. Our Country will only be as strong as our ways and morals. The media must realize this and will have to stand for something.

Which reminds me that since it is being recognized that we were responsible for taking out of governments that were not friendly with our corporations ; now Bush has signed some secret something that says we have the right to assassinate leaders in other countries. Democracy Now May 8th or 9th What do other countries think of this?
