Reverend Wrights new found fame
by maxpractical
It's obvious now that the Reverend Wright has found that he has, or actually had, an important person in his parish and is exploiting it for all it's worth. The Right will also exploit this although the Reverend is but an acquaintance of a Presidential Candidate. Does the Reverend feel this is an opportunity for which he has been chosen, to illustrate the plight of blacks or is he just enjoying the fame. We don't know but we do know that his words have been soundly repudiated byu the candidate and if the Meda can not focus on real issues rather than someones fifteen minutes of fame they are not doing their job, their only dabbling in the base production of the sleazier/easier side of the news.

I'm a 51 year old white male born in Southeastern Kentucky. I lived here in Kentucky until I reached the ripe old age of 4. Then my parents moved me to Detroit, Michigan were I continued to live until the age of 14. I don't understand what Reverend Wright has said to insult so many people. Maybe these folks he's insulted have never actually lived around any people of color aside from those who have the same color as themselves. I can find nothing he said controversial or astounding but moreover I find it interesting and somewhat of a relief. Maybe some of you need to look a little deeper into what he has said and reflect on his message in total instead of cherry picking the so called inflamatory parts. Some of us live in the real world were not everyone is equal. I've seen it all my life. In Michigan and in Kentucky, I've seen how black people are seen on the surface and then because I'm white, I've seen how they are really looked at and spoken about in private. To me things are no different today than they were in the sixties. The only difference being the lip service being afforded talking heads who can't see the forest for the trees. Maybe I'm in the minority but I like Reverend Wright. I like the way he speaks his mind to his congregation. How he says what some of them may be feeling and the comfort he gives them in saying it. So, to Reverend Wright I say, keep the faith and don't allow anyone to stop you from speaking your mind. One more thing, if Reverend Wright ever comes to Kentucky I'd like to meet him. It's hard to find a good man with conviction and the where for all to display it. Seeing and hearing him makes me proud to be an American.
