There is one consideration on this subject which is very important in Israel, not mentioned in this article; this considerations is invaluable to understanding the shape of this debate in Israel: the Holocaust. Now and again some very old fashioned Jewish scholar or other reminds us of what happened when no one wanted to take Jewish refugees.

On that issue and on others, I wish someone listened to the old fashioned Jewish scholars... But hey, now it's the 21st Century, and they've got a new kind of Judaism now that has no compassion for gentiles; Never again...
