Eight Belles
by Daniel J. Taylor

Eight Belles had to be euthanized (killed) because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. We need horse racing in this country like a fish needs a bicycle.. The very idea that in the 21st Century we are still pushing animals to the breaking point so we can sip mint julips and parade in top hats and gowns is so absurd that it almost doesn't deserve comment.

Horse racing is a cruel sport sponsored by wealthy people with too much time and money on their hands. It is subsidized by the networks as entertainment but is fundamentally organized slavery of animals.

PETA should mount an all out offensive against the horse racing community. Where was the Humane Society in all of this and where is the infamous Animal Defense League. Accidents do happen but accidents happen in places where neither people or animals should not be together: a racetrack, a young horse, and too much pressure.

As the founder of American Pet Cross I would like to register the jockey and the owner as Registered Pet Offenders.

I hope the owners choke on their grief and the horse comes back with a headless rider to haunt them forever. Shame on the owners, the jockey, and the people who support this barbaric and Romanesque past time.

Calm down, hysterical jackass. "Horse racing is a cruel sport sponsored by wealthy people with too much time and money on their hands."

Wrong, baboon. About half a million subsistence laborers are supported by horse racing. And horses mean more to them than a fool like you could every dream. They spend 18 hours a day laboring over horses, caring for them, while a conceited flatulence like you bloviates from on high.

Horse people should mount an all-out coruscating offensive against the PETA elitists, and smash them aqnd their fraudulent ideals into the dust.

It is so sickening to see PETA and people like them who jump on the this issue. where have they been for the last 134 years. They are no better than the Al Sharptons and any other person or group who just chime in at their whim. They like most people who think that horse racing is cruel should just shut the hell up. If they were so enthralled with this issue they would have spoken up long ago.It is just a publicity campaign. They call for the jockey to be suspended but offer no proof or reason why. PETA is a good organization but they are dead wrong on this issue.Horse racing is not Barbaric as some have said. It just amazes me that with all the Bullsh*t going on in this world... Gas Prices, people losing there homes and not being able to buy food, that everyone jumps on this. People wake up and smell the coffee. This country has a lot bigger issue than a horse breaking down because of a freak accident. Maybe that's why this country is is such bad shape. We can't distinquish what's important. This Is not in the grand scheme of things!

Well, yes, the Founder of "American Pet Cross" will likely find his dopey ass drowned in the infield lake if he tries to "mount an offensive" against people who work like 400 hours a month and make $400. The majority of the people who work in the industry.

And, no, benighted one, NEWS BULLETIN, not all horse owners are rich, the average thoroughbred horse makes like $4000 a year, which doesn't even pay for their care and vet bills.

Apparently you want to see these beautiful animals disappear from the face of the earth.Go to hell, pretentious dork.

Go to the Belmont backside, dipshit. Fuck you and your ridiculous babblement about top hats and gowns and mint julips. You're the elitist prick.

Just to be clear, Eight Belles, I was directing that at the "JD", not you.
