Hoosiers
by crimcrop

Natives of Indiana are not called "Indianians." The proper term for someone from Indiana is a "Hoosier."

"Hoosier" is not merely a nickname, like "Buckeye" for a resident of Ohio or "Tarheel" for a resident of North Carolina; rather, "Hoosier" is the proper name to use for a resident of Indiana.
