Rev. Wright has a messianic complex. No one is talking about crucifying him! He made hateful statements towards whites and the government, and totally unsubstantiated claims relating to AIDS being created to kill blacks and he expects not to get any reaction from that. And one of his most prominent congregants has sat under this vitriolic teaching for over 20 years, Barak Hussein Obama. He wonders curiously why he is getting such a negative reaction? Come on Rev.Wright!!! What do you expect? What is going on in your mind? You have been around long enough to know better and I think you do it purposely because you enjoy the attention.
Rev. Wright is misguided in his religious beliefs. He may have done a lot of good in the black community and raises some valid points on governments and leaders through history being evil and corrupt, but if he were a "true man of God", which I question exactly of "which god", he would teach what the bible states on how to approach such evil rulers and governments and not encourage further hatred, division and unforgiveness towards one's oppressors and the government. Scripture states, "Thou shall not speak evil of the ruler of thy people." Ex. 22:28, Eccl. 10:20, and Acts 23:5. Jesus didn't even do so, and when He walked the earth. And the Romans were oppressing the Jewish nation under Caesar. Rev. Wright offers no solution of deliverance, but just incites, which is what Rev. Wright relishes in doing. He is a "religious rabble rouser".
What does the scripture say about evil rulers and evil governments? In the Old Testament and the New Testament whenever Israel's kings and judges went astray the people PRAYED AND FASTED. God either sent prophets or other nations to pronounce judgment or overthrow them, but God first tried to deal with these kings and rulers one-on-one. And that is the model we are to follow today. Why did not Rev. Wright at the end of all those controversial and fiery sermons tell his congregants to go on a corporate fast and pray that God change the hearts of the government and leaders, or send his prophets as is directed in the scriptures?I Tim. 2:1-4 and Romans 13:1 Rather than just speak evil against the government ordained by God and indirectly encourage anarchy and confusion? Ex. 22:28, Eccl. 10:20, and Acts 23:5.
Rev. Wright claims to be a "man of God" but fails to lead by scriptural example of what ones correct scriptural response should be towards oppressors. Anytime Israel faced oppressors, they prayed, fasted and asked God's help for deliverance and God usually sent prophets, angels; or allowed them to defeat their enemies and even allowed the enemies to defeat each other as in 2 Chron. 20:20-28. Why did not Rev. Wright offer correct scriptural remedies during any of his fiery sermons? Because he doesn't follow the God of Israel, of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. He follows the god of "Black Liberation Theology" which has a "black Christ", based on the purposeful misinterpretation of Revelation 1:14-15 that Wright has preached, describing as a black Jesus of bronzed skin and "nappy, woolly hair" of African heritage, even though scripture and historical record categorically show Jesus was of Jewish heritage.Wright ascribes to a gospel of hatred and vengeance mapped out by "Black Liberation Theology" that calls on fighting and killing oppressors and denouncing a god that will not help them in their fight. And when Rev. Wright spews this false Christian doctrine, which he claims echoes the sentiments of the so called "black church". When Jesus made no such distinction of His believers, but called them "One Body of Believers with various functions", he wonders why he gets such a negative reaction from the world. Rom. 12: 4-8, I Cor. 10:17, 12:20, Eph. 1:23, 4:25. Give us all a big gigantic break, Rev.Wright!
There is nothing wrong with speaking out against racial injustice and fighting against it, but it's how you fight. And what type of solution you offer. Don't encourage and feed people's feelings of bitterness and hatred towards their fellow man, keeping them bound in hate. Pray God send prophets to rebuke evil rulers!!! No one says practicing tolerance, love and forgiveness is easy. Gandhi and MLK suffered with their lives trying to do so, but we are still supposed to try. Our real enemy is not the white man, the black man, the red man or the yellow man, but EVIL. And it manifests itself in many forms of racism, injustice, intolerance and hatred and happily uses any willing human host whether black, white, yellow or red man. All it cares about is if you are human and if it can use you for evil. Once we recognize who the real enemy is as the bible tells us, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood" Eph.6:12. Then it is a little easier to understand why we need to utilize spiritual weapontry of prayer and fasting against oppressors coupled with non violent political action to gain victory. MLK recognized this. He knew blacks made up only 11% of the population and violence and hatred against whites and inciting violence against the government equated to suicide, so he sought the most powerful route, the supernatural, God's way of war. And we must do the same!!
And while doing so, we try not to incite and encourage hatred or be "overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good, by loving our neighbor as ourselves and praying for our enemies and forgiving those who harm us" and pray that God deal with them or take vengeance on them. Matt. 22:39, Rom. 12:21, Matt. 5:44, Lk. 6:27; Mrk 11:26, Mrk 11:18:28-35; Deut. 32:35 and Hebrews 10:30.
But scriptures applies only if you call yourself a "Christian", but remember, "he who lives by the sword, will die by the sword." Matt. 26:52 and Rev. 13:10. Rev. Wright claims to believe the scripture, but fails to follow and lead by example.
Rev. Wright needs to take a long vacation. And while on vacation, he needs to ponder the scriptures on how one should react scripturally to oppressors and enemies. Read the stories in the Old Testament and New Testament on how God helped Israel, our examples, as true Christians, to face and overcome oppression. And not on the false "Black Liberation Theology" that teaches something quite different. Only then can he expect not to be demonized, crucified, and vilified as he claims. Frankly, only one good man was crucified, who didn't deserve that fate, and that was the true "Messiah", Jesus Christ of Nazareth and not Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
