i just don't see how it boost mccain dramatically with the general electorate.

romney brings much needed economic policy credibility to the mccain ticket, helps with the fundraising thing among wall streeters, investment bankers, etc.

but are those guys really going to dump any amount money in obamas (or hillarys?) lap if the democrats are attempting to establish "fortress america" where global trade is frozen? unlikely.

also, romney is "cool" (to borrow a phrase from marshall mcluhan) and not in a good way. you never get the sense that he connects with voters. that might be okay, since mccain has enoough fire in his belly for 2 candidates, but still . .. why pick romney when you could have . ..

"a clean, articulate black woman" (to borrow joe biden's phrase)

condi rice might be the democrats worst nightmare. no matter who they pick - obama or hillary - condi could garner the support of the disaffected "losers" - black americans who feel screwed if hillary is nominated, or women voters who can't support the guy with zero experience and ideas.

condi is a bit "cool" to the touch, too. but she's legitimately black, unlike obama . .. and nobody is going to claim that she spend time in a madrassa while other kids her age were playing hoops and watching "all in the family".

go condi !!!
