Cures Right In Your Kitchen

I totally agree with that, MA...

When I first bagan reading the article I was thinking of the herbs I use for medcinal purposes and the farther I read on ti named almost everyone.

I am a firm believer in natural methods of medicating ourselves....not harmful side effects.

I have cut out all meat and sugar in my diet which is no small feat. If you are label reader such as myself you'll notice that almost everything has sugar or high fructose syrup in it. I use honey for my sweet craving and that has really helped me get through my adjustment period of no sugar. As for the meat...one day soon I'm going to write a post about what the USDA is feeding us..it'll make you never want to eat meat...of any kind again.

Informative article, MA...thanks!

The article sure revealed a lot that I have been trying to do.

I used brown sugar, then found out it was simply white sugar with color added.I then switched to Splenda only to have Sea tell me it was a product of pesticides.

Sea salt is not as bad as the regular salt. You can get it Iodized.I need that.I try to watch and read all the labels.BTW,now a survey shows people get almost as much caffeine in Decaf as they do in regular.

With so many stories coming out about our meat,I even ask the butcher where my meat comes from.

I would be interested in other suggestions

I'm not sure but I think most sea salts do have iodine in them...that is all I used and it gives me comfort that all the minerals are right there where they belong instead of being processed out.

The only good meat supposedly is cattle fed only organic grasses and who have not been given antibiotics or hormones and are free range...feed lots are a real no no. There are organic meat sellers on the net. I'll send you the address of one but you must know they are expensive. We should only eat free range chicken with out the antibiotics and hormones too. 40 percent of the antibiotics manufactured is used for meat that we eat. I also just finished reading an article about pharmaceuticals in our drinking water and this is not new, the powers that be have known about it for years.

I live in an area where we could have completely organic eggs and chickens and all organic beef. [we alredy have our own cattle] plus have a great organic garden but my husband is too lazy and will not help me do this...it's a lot of work. sigh

We cannot trust what we are being fed...we must take our food into our own hands to make sure of what we are eating.

I have always used a lot of home remedies. My grandma used some of them and I to use them. I have a huge aloe plant that gets raggedy in the summer where I cut off large hunks for sunburn relief. I also use strong cold tea compress for sunburn because of the tannin in it. I am known as Dr, Mom or Dr, Granny as the case may be.Use a lot of Honey and real butter also. I use a lot of the mentioned spices plus many more in my cooking and baking,. A little baking soda in water is wonderful for heart burn or stomach upset.

DI always rinse pasta and rice to remove some of the starch. Can`t even think of all the kitchen cures I use because they are so common for me.

Interesting.I never thought about the starch in pasta being rinsed out.
Sea Salt can be found with extra iodine.I take thryroid medicine so need this..

Many people who are on restricted diets rinse their ground meat. No store bought meat tastes like the home made kind.

Even chicken does not taste good.Sea soldier would be a good one on this subject. The man knows everything and has researched all of this.Wulk is good too.

Drugs are highly over rated in most cases.I see Statins are now not doing what they are supposed to.

If I am making some dish with hamburger I always rinse it well in a wire colander in very hot water to remove some of the fat.

Any ma or grandma IMO is not worth her salt if she
by SouthernGal

doesn't know home remedies to help and heal her family. There may come a time when that is all we have to depend on and it is imperative that we know them.

I know about rinsing pasta and salt but I like my rice sticky so do not rinse it...:)

Don't forget about ginger for upset tummies. I want to grow some ginger in my garden and also stevia...homegrown is always better.

Shoot, I meant rice not salt, I don't usually rinse my salt!
